The annual Nha Trang Sea Festival runs from June 6 to 12 and the coastal Khanh Hoa Province People’s Committee has outlined the planned activities.
Nha Trang – The Rendezvous, as it will be known, will feature 67 cultural, art, and sports events.
Six national records are likely to be set during the festival – including the largest antique-Vespa (motor scooter) parade, the largest metal sculpture made from discarded materials, and the largest group exercise team involving 5,000-7,000 people.
The inugural festival was held in 2003.
The organisers also plan a campaign to clear all garbage in Nha Trang and honour the city’s sanitary workers to mark World Environment Day on June 4.
A ceremony would be held at April 2 Square on May 19 to mark the Government’s decision to upgrade Nha Trang to a first class city based on population and other parameters.
